This work aims at providing research evidence on teaching practices and teaching effectiveness across the educational spectrum in EU countries by exploring teaching practices as reported by teachers in TALIS, by school principals in PISA and by school principals and teachers in PIRLS. This research will also focus on providing evidence on existing links between teaching and learning practices and students' achievement. In addition, analysis of PIAAC data will be carried out to understand the skill level of teachers. Thus, this research focuses on describing the learning conditions that offer students opportunities to learn from primary to secondary school.
